Hi sculpture students!

Directions: To prepare for our next project, watch the following videos, complete your sketches of what to draw/paint on the front and back of your hand sculpture, and store them in your lockers by the end of the day today.

Drawing+Painting1: March 8th Agenda

1] WATERCOLOR TUTORIAL

• Watch videos about how to prepare a palette and apply various watercolor techniques

2] PRACTICE WITH WATERCOLOR PAINT

• Prepare your own palette using box assigned to tables
• Apply a TINY dab of paint to each well and mix with A LOT OF WATER to be transparent
• Layer once dry to darken and KEEP WHITES WHITE OF PAGE!
• Paint with WATERCOLOR on provided paper to experiment with medium

3] CLEAN-UP 10 MINUTES BEFORE END OF CLASS

• Sign name and store artwork on back drying rack
• All PAINT PALETTES should be stored in bins - DO NOT CLEAN OUT (COVER NOT NECESSARY)

HOMEWORK: Plan for watercolor project imagery and colors...

Create THREE WATER COLOR PAINTINGS:

• PRACTICE various watercolor techniques
• Paint a STYLIZED COMPOSITION using abstract (simplified/distorted) or illustrative qualities in an original design
• REALISTIC PAINTING based on a meaningful ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH such as a room, landscape, object, food, portrait, toy, object, scene, etc. Make it  looked ‘lived in’ or ‘used’ for interest. view lesson here

Drawing + Painting | 11.4.15 Agenda

• View Project Tutorial and time lapse inking video: Cross Hatching technique [LINKED HERE]

• Work on inking thin basic outlines of HALLWAY + PORTRAIT DRAWING.  DUE FRIDAY

• 10 MINUTES BEFORE END OF CLASS - all students must clean off and store tools, inks, and wipe down tables with a wet sponge.

• Store projects on drawing boards in portfolio slots.

• If ink is wet, use hair dryer next to sink in back of room first.

2. Complete Shattered Value Drawing and Grid Drawing Practice Sheet (front and back)

• Work upside down, square by square, and cover most of image to work from the RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR BRAIN/OBSERVATION.
• Use 6B or Extra Black pencil, sharpener, and eraser, but no blending stump
• Due @ end of class Monday
